In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, the media played a large role on recognizing the positive contributions made by first responders and especially police entities. If the overwhelming majority of police officers and first responders are doing the right thing, shouldn't the media focus on national reforms so that the minute percentage of police misconduct is actual addressed at the national level instead of causing moral panic and sensationalizing the offending officers?
