In the Army, we addressed the assumption in the decision-making process. The definition of assumption is set out in the dictionary of Department of Defense, it has been defined as "a supposition on the current situation or a presupposition in the future course of events, either or both assumed to be true in the absence of positive proof necessary to enable the commands in the process of planning to complete an estimate of the situation and make a decision on the course of action". One of the underlying assumptions of our organization, I think is, has something to do with the filling the gap between the US Army Culture and the professional/leadership skills of its senior leaders.
