In the coagulation reaction, commercial aluminum sulfate (alum) reacts with natural alkalinity or can be reacted with lime or soda ash if the water is deficient in alkalinity. Based on coagulation reactions:

a- calculate the milligrams-per-liter amounts of alkalinity (mg/l as CaCO3) that reacts with 1.0 mg/l of alum.

b- calculate the milligrams-per-liter amounts of lime as Ca(OH)2 (mg/l of Ca(OH)2) that reacts with 1.0 mg/l of alum.

c- calculate the milligrams-per-liter amounts of lime as CaO (mg/l of CaO) that reacts with 1.0 mg/l of alum, if CaO is 70% pure.
