In the context of a randomized controlled trial, sometimes intervention and/or control subjects do not follow through with the treatments they are prescribed. In this situation, we should analyze our data as follows: We should compare those who successfully completed and complied with the treatment O compared to those that truly did not, regardless of which group they were originally randomized to. We should compare those originally assigned to the intervention group to those originally assigned to the control group, even if subjects did not comply with the treatments they were prescribed. When we analyze our data, we should disregard all the subjects who did not comply with their prescribed treatments, and only analyze data from those that were compliant. We should not analyze our data because when there is noncompliance, the data is too flawed for analysis. None of the above
