In the first week after his promotion, Davis makes it clear to Green that "the clients responded well toyour idea's. However, I think we would have been more effective if we had been able to provide theclients with some market data" (Sasser, Beckham, 2008 p3). This should have been advice that Greentook to heart and responded by ensuring that he was prepared for meetings with market data. However,further on in the case study when Davis asks for organizational charts for two clients, Green respondswith "What's the value of charts like that? I have that information in my head." (Sasser, Beckham, 2008p5). By dismissing the request, Green is ensuring that Davis would have to act on the transgression, as itdoes not mesh with the management style of Davis who presumably likes to have all the data in front ofhim while dealing with clients
