Count the Clues

As Dr. J.L. Quicksolve walked towards the bank, he watched a car pull over to the curb in front of it. The driver got out of the car. Without locking the door, he looked around left and right as he approached the bank. He wore a brown jacket over a blue shirt that was not tucked in and that stuck out past the bottom of his jacket. He held his right hand in the pocket of his baggy slacks, and his left hand held a small piece of paper. He wore a green baseball cap, and he lowered his head as he walked through the door of the bank.

Dr. Quicksolve entered the bank and as he waited for a teller, he watched the man who had come in before him. He saw the teller's startled expression, and when she handed the man a large bag, Dr. Quicksolve signaled the guard, whom he knew, and took out his pistol.

When the man turned away from the teller, he was facing two guns. The guard's gun was pointed at his face, and Dr. Quicksolve was aimed at his heart. He dropped the bag of money and slowly took the gun out of his pocket with two fingers and laid it on the floor.

What clues gave him away to Dr. Quicksolve?

1. Use12 pt Arial font for the body text.

1. Format the title and the question:

• The title: "Count the Clues"centered,bold, and in16 pt. font
  • Leave 2 blank lines after the title (this is known as triple-spacing)

• The question ("What clues gave him away to Dr. Quicksolve?") should beleft aligned,16 pt andbolded
• Add a comment attached to the question and type the words "the fox did it"

1. Read the document and find5 clues that gave the crook away. Highlight each of the clues in yellow. Change the font colour of the clues to red.
2. Locate any mention of a "bank" in the story. Change the word to ahyperlinkusing the "insert link button". Have the link take you to the TD bank website. (td.com)

1. Under the question, insert a table with one row and one column

• In the row of the table, create acheckbox list of the five clues.
• The clues should be in full sentences
• Italicise the list.
• Indent the table on both sides by grabbing the left and right lines of the

table and drag them in approximately 1 inch on each side

• Remove the lines of the table
  • Right click on the table Table Properties Table Border0 pt

1. Place your name and the date in thefooter.
2. In the header type the word count in size 18 font. Use the tools menu to find the final word count of your document.

1. a) Fix the indentation: Highlight the body text (the 3 paragraphs) and make sure all lines start at the same indentation. Do this by highlighting the paragraphs, then drag the little blue rectangle at the top left of your page until it is inline with the little blue triangle.

b) Next, place your cursor at the start of each paragraph and click the "decrease indent" button.

1. Insert a watermark

• Find a suitable picture on Google Images that relates to the clues. Insert it into the document.
  • Finding a picture: In Google, search for what you are looking for thatrelates to the document.
  • Inserting a picture: Once you find the picture you want to use right click the imageCopy (CTRL+C). Go back to your document and right clickPaste (CTRL+V)
• Watermark it: Right click on the pictureImage OptionsAdjust the Transparency tab to 50%
• Move the image to the bottom right corner of the page
