In the past 30 years, the cost of health care has increased worldwide. In the United States, this cost has increased faster than the price index and wage increases. And the per capital cost has become significantly higher. Consequently, an increasing amount of take home dollars of each employee's pay is allocated to health care costs and the situation has been described as untenable. It has also been described in more than one publication that the leading cause of personal bankruptcies are medical expenses. In light of these realities, please elaborate as to whether the United States should adopt a nationalized health care system, similar to that of U.K or Canada in which the government takes over the system and allocates spending? Please post your agreement/disagreement and expound on your position.
