Student(s) will create a case describing an event or a situation that required taking a strategic level response. The case could illustrate a situation of proactive decision making of strategic nature or a situation where the management was forced into making an important strategic decision to react to an event either in the external business environment or internal to the organization. All information is to be collected from primary source, i.e., from the life experiences of an individual working in the local industry, this primary source can be supplemented with information from secondary sources, if available. When secondary sources are used, references (in the business press, internet sites, company documents, etc.) should be provided. The firm may be based in any city of Bangladesh or in special circumstances, a student may work on a foreign company that has some form of connection with Bangladesh. The case should be approximately 1000-1500 words (3-6 pages) not including references, appendices and it should also provide a scanned copy of the business card and/or formal contact information of the founder(s) so they can be contacted if needed. Photographs taken together are also welcome. Only a written submission of the case is required. There will be an option to present the case in class voluntarily. No printed copy is needed.
