In the short clip with Admiral Rogers, one of the things he says he worries about is attackers who instead of stealing data, attack systems to manipulate data. In other words, instead of an attack against data confidentiality, an attack against data integrity. He mentions two examples in particular, attacks that change data used by the military and attacks that change financial data.
For this discussion, you get to think like an attacker. Your initial post must do the following:
Identify some kind of data, other than financial information, that an attacker might want to change, and what effect changing the data might have.
You can go with the relatively trivial, like changing grades, but I'd rather you thought bigger. Try to think about data is stored by the government, or where you work, or what data you might imagine that other companies keep. And your answer must be substantially different than anything any other student has previously posted to make that easier, you must come up with a title for your post that identifies the data that could be changed.
You aren't searching for attacks that have already occurred, you won't easily find many. In part, because it is harder to carry out attacks of this type, but also because there's no requirements for public notification about attacks of this type.
