In this course, two properties of relationships between entities in an ERD are introduced: Cardinality: refers to the ratio of parent instances to child instances Modality: refers to whether or not an instance of a child entity can exist without a related instance in the parent entity. Discuss how we can determine the cardinality for a relationship including examples of different type of cardinality (1:1, 1:N, and M:N)
