In this exercise, we will put to use some of the statistics covered in Module 3 of the course (Numerical Summaries of Data). Our class data sheet will be posted inside the Re/App 3 folder when I have received all (or most) of your answers. I will let you know when it is available with an announcement.

Instructions: You may pick for analysis any one of the quantitative variables from the questions asked in Re/App 2. Those were:

Height in inches (from question 1),

Number of cavities (from question 3),

Hours of sleep (from question 5), or

Number of texts (from question 6).

Next: We'll consider our answers as a population of data. Identify which variable you are analyzing from the class data, then calculate the 12 specified items and type in your answers where indicated.

Identify which quantitative variable from Re/App 2 are you analyzing?

0. Which variable are you analyzing? Type answer 0 here

1. Mean(round to 1 more decimal place than used in the data) Type answer 1 here

2. Median(round to 1 decimal place if not a whole number) Type answer 2 here

3. Mode(s)(list ALL modes if there is more than one) Type answer 3 here

4. Population Variance(round to 3 decimal places) Type answer 4 here

5. Population Standard Deviation(round to 4 decimal places) Type answer 5 here

[continued on next side]

6. Quartile 1 (report exactly as your TI-83/84 shows it) Type answer 6 here

7. Quartile 3(report exactly as your TI-83/84 shows it) Type answer 7 here

8. IQR(report exactly as it comes out) Type answer 8 here

9. Lower outlier boundary(report exactly as it comes out) Type answer 9 here

10 . Upper outlier boundary (report exactly as it comes out) Type answer 10 here

11. List ALL outliers(write "none" of there are not any) Type answer 11 here
