In this project you will be applying the concepts of physics learned during modules 5 & 6 to build a musical instrument that is capable of producing 5 unique pitches. This project is meant to be a fun and creative way to exemplify your understanding of frequency, wavelength, and wave velocity. Please don't get too caught up in making the perfect instrument, but do make sure that you are able to explain how physics applies to musical instrument characteristics. Part 1 - Build a Musical Instrument (Required) - 10 pts For this part of the lab, you will be tasked with building a pitched musical instrument that meets the following requirements - The instrument must be constructed of things you can find around your house or school. - You may not use any parts of a manufactured musical instrument (This includes things like guitar strings, bows, drum heads, etc...) If you have questions, ask! - The instrument must be able to play 5 distinct pitches (you will do more with these pitches in part 2) Part 2 - Physics Calculations (Required) - 20 pts Depending on the type of musical instrument you designed, show your calculations that you used to determine the specific pitches of your instrument. You will need to do a little bit of research on this to determine what changes to your instrument will change the pitch. You should show the calculations used to determine all 5 pitches that your instrument can play
