In this report, you will watch a movie from the list in the next section. You will take notes and make comparisons from the course readings and, if possible, use your own experiences and observations in class to formulate your ideas. You will construct a 2-page analytical reflection discussing the characters, events, and situations. Your task in the movie is to analyze how the main characters are dealing with the issues and their relationships with others. The short movie, A Place in the Middle is what you are to analyze.

• Analyze: “to study or examine something carefully in a methodical way” (“analyze,” n.d.). This means you break down the information into different parts. You figure out how the parts relate to the entire whole. Analyze means you figure out what something might mean. You determine why it is important.
• Perspective: “A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view” (“perspective,” n.d.). In looking at another’s perspective, you are becoming aware of another’s presence and their own achievements and struggles. You are now valuing another’s experiences by listening and acknowledging their voice and point of view. This helps you understand these challenging topics in multiple layers, comprehending the complexities involved.
