For example, eConestoga is a Learning Management System (or LMS) that is intended to deliver content for education. In this assignment, we are going to review several business scenarios and determine which type of CMS you recommend.
Each student has been assigned a different scenario (listed below) to complete a review on which type of CMS system is best for them. Review your assigned scenario below and then complete the requirements from the "Your Assignment" section.
"Government Licensing Office"
When someone needs a new health card or needs to update their driver's license, etc. they go to a Government Licensing Office. The Government needs to keep track of all these different documents and issued licenses.Each license, health card, social insurance number and more are all stored in a central location. Lately with a reduction of staff, the organization needs to modernize several of its process to not only improve efficiency but also locate information quicker. The government has the money and equipment to handle larger best of industry solutions and host internally.
"Creative Arts Studio"
A group of young digital artists have come up with a business plan to their art digitally. Previously they have visited many local markets and had limited success due to not having a physical product. Unfortunately, they have no way of organizing each artist's content, setup licensing and distribution channels for others to access it.They need a system that will help organize their digital images, categorize items, and make them accessible to sell through their distribution system. They also want to start creating video content to help market their digital art.They would prefer if possible, to save money by using free software.
"Creative Coders"
A successful coding entrepreneur has reviewed the market and seen the need for more developers with Power BI experience. After reaching out to a lot of schools, the entrepreneur has become frustrated with the lack of training and decided to develop courses. They want the courses to be short, asynchronous with instruction through video and all online. There will be no campuses for these programs as they are aimed at post-graduates with little to no time to complete. The entrepreneur and his team need a system to manage content, separate for delivery and receive and grade work done by students. The system needs to be scalable to allow for many users at once access it.
"Livin' Off the Grid"
A husband and wife have decided they no longer want to live a regular city life, they instead want to "live off the grid." This means they do not want to use electricity, city water or sewage services and live using the land they have. They want to grow their own garden for food, use solar for energy and use the local water supply to live. To document this, they want to write a blog about all of their trials and tribulations along the way. They aren't tech savvy and will have limited electronic resources to operate a site. Instead, they are looking for a system that they can just write articles for people to follow their experience.
