In week 13 we covered various types of property starting with real property (land). In the context of discussing land we covered ownership (fee simple title), rights to possession (leasing or renting property), access rights (easement for a private person or a statutory easement for a utility company). We also discussed other ways in which a person may access and use property without having ownership and without having a right of possession. This includes, for example, using a hotel room. The law explains the right to use a hotel room (property you do not own) by paying for a license to use the hotel room. There is other real property that residents and visitors of Vancouver may access and use: Stanley Park. Explain how it is that residents and visitors have a lawful right to access and use Stanley Park.
