In week 2 of the course you produced a journal entry describing their personal views on the death penalty. The intent of this week's reflection assignment is to look back at what you wrote in the week two "Journal Assignment - Is the Death Penalty Legal?" assignment and explore how your views and knowledge on the death penalty topic and issues have evolved over the course. Please address the following items:
- What was your position on the death penalty in the week 2 journal assignment?
- What is your position on the death penalty now at the end of the course?
- Has it changed at all? By this I am asking not just the "for or against" position, but has your position on when it should be used, under what circumstances, against whom, etc., changed?
- We are attempting to get at the nuances of your belief on this topic and its many issues rather than a simple Yes or No. Please explain how it has changed or why you believe it has or has not changed

I have heard over the years how the government is trying to refrain from the death penalty. I have heard of the ways they kill inmates who have been granted the death penalty. From the electric chair, to shot injections. In my opinion, the death penalty should be legal and only given out to crimes that are beyond the return of bad or horrible actions that have been committed. Eirsmall, I believe that all kinds of murder or homicide should possibly and probably end up with the death penalty. S=o for every type of murder or if someone was involved at all, I think they deserve the death penalty. For all other types of crime, I do not believe the death penalty should take place. For robbery or the or anything else, that should not be handed the death penalty. This is a very serious topic of discussion at court rooms and for the government itself. I am aware that the death penalty only takes place in certain states across America. I think that it should be a country wide law that if if one commits murder of any kind, then they can be chosen for the death penalty. I believe it should be in all states, given out to those whose crimes resulted in murder. From Pewresearch.org, I found out how we all view the death penalty N differently depending on race and ethnicity. This is what the website had to say about the statistics "Around two-thirds of Protestants in the U.S. (66%) favor capital punishment, though support is much higher among White evangelical Protestants (75%) and White non-evangelical Protestants (73%) than it is among Page 1 of 3 458 words English (United States) Focus + 175%AutoSave OFF ILS Week 1 Journal (1) - Saved to my Mac Q Home Insert Draw Design Layout References Mailings Review View ? Around six-in-ten Catholics (58%) also support capital punishment, a figure that includes 61% of Hispanic Catholics and 56% of White Catholics" Overall, this is a very crazy topic and it's very hard for many to speak about because it's about taking the life of another human being. Although, I don't feel remorse for serial killers or murderers of any kind. I did find online however, that six in ten adults find the death penalty acceptable for murder. I can't wait to learn more about the death penalty and dive into what it's all about. Page 2 of 3 458 words English (United States) iT Focus E + 175%
