In your lab you were guided through creating hyperlinks for works on your website. This is obviously a practical skill and something you are likely to use frequently in web design.

You may have noticed that when you click on the links you created thatthey open in the same tab you are currently using in your browser. There is code that must be added to tell the link to open in a new browser window or a new tab.

There is some debate about which is most appropriate. Make an Internet search on opening links in the same browser and then opening links in a new tab and see what you find.

Based on what you learned, share in the discussion which side you are on. Should the link open in the current window or a new one? Does it depend on where the link is going? Why or why not?
