One major life changing decisions I came across was going back to school to get my bachelors degree in Business of Science in Accounting. I had been trying to complete college for a few years now and every time I enrolled into college I do a few classes for a months then something major gets in the way to where I would have to withdraw myself from my online classes. Around the time that these major changes happened I ended up going to cosmetology school and completing it, becoming a cosmetologist but I never got to take the written test and the theory hands on test due to Covid rising then it made me lose interest in even completing it. Eventually I decided to go back to school to get my Associates in Business Administration and I stayed motivated as much as I can and here I am about to graduate in September of this year. Hard work does pay off.

I recently worked for the US Senate delivering mail to the offices of Senators across the country within the US Capitol. I am classified as a disabled veteran, which means that I have limited physical mobility in various areas throughout my body. I was sincerely happy conducting the job that I had, until someone brought light to my situation by stating," You look as if your limping, are you ok". I immediately contacted my Primary Care Provider and after her examination, she strongly encouraged me to seek other employment.
Instead of seeking unemployment, I decided to seek disability compensation from the Federal Government. I sacrificed two years of gainful employment pursuing Social Security Disability only to receive a negative response. I was encouraged to appeal the decision, but after careful consideration, I realize that I can demonstrate certain mobility within the parameters of certain job descriptions.
I did not want to rely on government assistance, so after I was denied from the previous court hearing, I decided to look for employment. The reason for my decision was validated. I wanted to continue working, However, after my primary care provider expressed her opinion, I reluctantly declined working in my career field of Logistics and Operations. My final decision to abandon my duties was based on the trust I developed over the years with my Primary Care Provider. Today, I work with the Maryland State Police as a Communications Officer.
