I decided to pick LOral. They are a well-known beauty product from makeup and hair products they sell at your local retail stores. Their mission is to reduce half of their carbon emissions by 2030. As of 2021, all sites in the United States are 100% carbon neutral. Another sustainability concern was testing the product on live animals. In 1989 they banned animal testing and had a scientist create a reconstructed skin technology called EpiSkin.
The most recent sustainability concern seems to be the amount of plastic they were using to produce and manufacture products. By 2025 all packaging will be recyclable, reusable, and refillable. As of 2021 43% of their plastic packaging is recyclable, refillable, and reusable. Their goal is 2030 to have eliminated the use of virgin plastic in their packaging. The business risk is it might cost more money to manufacture recycled products.
The business risks are worth it because they are creating a better future for their company, consumers, and the environment. Providing recycled and reusable products will help eliminate waste consumption. All factories in the US are 100% carbon neutral which will help out with climate change.
