Indian exports of computer software have grown rapidly since the early 2000s. In the early 2000s the cost of employing Indian programmers was one half the cost of those with comparable skills in the US. By the mid-2010s, their cost had risen to two thirds of equivalent programmers in the US. Use trade theory to explain the reasons for the change.
