Indigenous people are hospitalised for mental health issues at twice the rate of non-indigenous people and improving the mental health of Indigenous people is a national health priority (AIHW, 2020). Critically analyze contemporary literature and discuss five aetiological factors relating to mental illness in Indigenous people. Describe one evidence-based culturally sensitive nursing intervention that could be implemented when working with an Indigenous consumer experiencing mental illness.
