Our relationships give meaning and richness to our work and to our lives. We all need a community of people to share the joys and the struggles of organizing and supporting community change.

Background:

You have been asked by your organization an assignment related to Regent Park. Your management team is considering expanding your agency boundaries and provide further service for the Regent Park Community in Toronto.

You have been provided with the following background resources related to the area:

You have also been provided with a map to determine what boundaries you should be focusing on for that area: (note, you were told to restrict your research specifically to the boundaries identified in the map.)

You were asked to provide information based on the following criteria:

(1) Identify in the area all the areas where residents can access a harm reduction location;

(2) Identify all organization that provide support on food security or any food bank programs in the area;

(3) Identify all organizations in the area that provide a safe space for clients to residents to attend during the daytime;

(4) List all organizations that provide skill, trade or employment programs in the area;

(5) List of larger and smaller organizations in the area that could advance social service work practices in the area or where there might be

opportunities for partnerships at a later point;

You can provide either the organizations in a map format (show all the organizations on a map) or a list format (show all the organizations including address and contact information in a list format). Your lists must include a short description for services provided.

You may use but you are not limited to the following sources as part of your research:

(a) City of Toronto resources or reports;

(b) United Way resources or reports;

(c) 211 resources and reports;

(d) 311 resources and reports;

(e) Toronto Public Health Resources;

(f) Local agency resources and reports;

You must provide a resource list at the end of your report. This must be submitted by Sunday July 9th, 2023
