Information Governance Principles and Health Record Data Integrity

1. An overview of how an HIM professional manages information governance principles and health record data integrity to meet federal and state standards as well as the expectations of stakeholders.
2. An explanation of the function of both policy and procedure to meet the needs of external stakeholders as well as the needs of both external and internal forces. Specific stakeholders, external forces, and internal forces must be included to exemplify the purpose of policy and procedure.
3. Recommendations for data integrity strategies that include at minimum a strategy for:
   1. data governance
   2. data management
   3. data reporting
4. An outline of at least three activities that HIM can engage in to ensure complete health record content and proper utilization of classification systems.
