Injuries due to the fall from different heights.
Please solve clearly and accurately for lots of thumbs up from classmates*********
Consider a man working in a construction site. The man weigh is 200 pound (his upper body weight is of his weight and his head weight is 1/20th of his weight), and his height is 5 8. You are asked to analyze his injures due to his fall from different heights for the cases A, B, C. and D.
In each of the following case scenarios determine:
- The forces and stresses on the tibia and femur bones.
- Compare the stresses with the strength of those bones and determine if any of the bone fractures.
- For the Case C: In addition to the lower extremities also determine the forces on his upper extremities and whether or not those bones fracture.
- For the Case D: Determine to total load to his body and compare to injury threshold of his skull, cervical and lumbar spine. Does he sustain skull fracture? Why? And why not?
A; Assume that he jumps from a 4 feet height on: A-1) a hard surface like concrete and A-2) on a lawn with grass.
B: Assume that he jumps from 10 feet height (one story building) down on the concrete. Also assume that he initially lands on his feet but flexed his knees and his hip and uses his hands to brake his fall.
C: Assume that he jumps from 20 feet height (two story building) down on the grassy surface.
D: Assume that accidentally he falls off of the roof of a 6thstory building (height of 60 feet). In this case analyze his body dynamics when it was airborne. And determine what part of his body strikes the grassy ground first.
Make any assumption that you need to solve the problem.
