Indicates the number of patients present in the healthcare facility at a particular point in time. Hospitals include only inpatients in their calculations.

Exercise 1:

Two hundred adults and children were in the hospital at 12:01am on August 1. There were 45 newborns at 12:01 am on August 1.During August, the following data are compiled.

Admissions:

Adults and children = 1,567

Newborns = 97

Discharges: (including deaths)

Adults and children = 1,572

Daily Inpatient Census

Includes the number of inpatients present at the census-taking time each day and any inpatients who were both admitted after the previous census-taking time and discharged before the next census-taking time.

The census at 12:01 am on December 1 is 107. Two patients are admitted on December 1 at 6:00 am and discharged at 7:00 pm that same day. One patient admitted at 3:00 pm died at 5:30 pm the same afternoon. What is the ICU's daily census for December 1^st?
