Contents of the Analysis Paper

The analysis paper is about the current state of the bilateral relations between the US and

any country you would like to study (you are totally free to choose the country). The focus

should be on the current agenda of the bilateral relationship, in terms of the issues of

disagreements and on-going cooperation.

A very brief history of the relationship should be provided initially, but the main body of

the analysis paper should discuss the current issues, with regards to the two countries

cooperation and conflict (if any). Please check the US State Department and US Embassy

websites to check the official US policy concerning your selected country. Subsequently,

you should also check the foreign ministry website of the other country and also the

webpage of their embassy in the USA.

As the final component of your US-X country relations analysis paper, you should provide

an assessment of the prospects of their relationship, i.e. a conclusion based on your

observations whether the bilateral relationship is likely to improve or worsen in the

future, specifying the reasons and scenarios for each case (For instance, the X country is

likely to see worsening of its relations with the US because Trump administration

considers their W/Y/Z policy hurting US national interests and would soon sanction the X

country).

Submission and Referencing

The paper should be submitted latest on 11 January 2022 via Moodle Assignment

submission option.

You should submit the analysis paper in Word/or similar format. The allowed length for

this assignment is maximum 1,300 words, or approximately 4 pages, excluding references

list.

You should cite all the resources (books, websites, articles) used properly, any citation

style is welcome, however, Harvard-style is recommended. Please carefully check the
