Instructions:

1. Access the CDC web site at www.cdc.gov(Links to an external site.). Under the Disease and Conditions tab, choose Data & Statistics.
2. From there you will choose a topic of interest. There are many topics to choose from and each will take you down a slightly different path as to the data/statistics that are available. You'll want to choose an area that will provide you with the information that is being requested for this report/discussion assignment.
3. Gather data, graphs, and other information from the site to be inclusive of the criteria in the scoring guide. See scoring guide below.

Questions:

1. Explains the importance of the data/statistics and data analytics in healthcare.

2. accurately identifies the data source.

3. includes at least one pertinent graph or table (insert/screenshot).

4. identifies/classifies the type of data as nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio.

5. indicates whether the data is from an entire population or a sample, whether the statistics are descriptive or inferential, and an explanation of your answers.

6. explains whether the data is primary or secondary.

7. summarizes the data/statistics contained in the graphs/tables, along with the narrative findings of the study.

8.concludes with a description of how this data (and/or data set and database) might be used, and the potential users of this information.
