Instructions:

Download the HDI data for 2018 from United Nations website (http://hdr.undp.org/en/data) and discuss:

1.

-What does HDI tell?

-What are the components of HDI?

-Discuss the ranking tiers of human development.

2.Examine the HDI index for your own country or the country of your choice for the last 5 years and comment on it. Tabulate the data and draw an appropriate graph to present the data. Discuss the trend.

3.Discuss the strength and weakness of using HDI to measure and compare the development of statistics.

4.Compare the top three Pacific Island countries HDI index with the bottom three Pacific Island countries and explain the difference. Also indicate why some countries such as Tuvalu has no records of HDI index.
