Instructions: Find a case of face-saving on television (House of Cards and Game of Thrones are two examples of series with lots of face-saving). What frame is applied to the face-saving incident? How do participants try to save face? Are their efforts productive? What would you do in their place?

Has there ever been a time when you said or did something that you thought would embarrass you, yet someone stepped in and "saved" you from the situation? This is one example of face-giving. What strategy of face-giving did the other person employ? How did you feel? What might have happened had they not rescued you?
