3. What the artist did? She calls all her fans Barbies and refer to herself as a Barbie. In addition, she has used Barbie on an album cover and promotional materials.

4. Why Mattel is suing? Mattel is suing Nicki Minaj for "trademark infringement." Mattel alleges that the lyrics, sexuality, and profanity, dilutes Mattel and tarnishes its brand. It also contends that Minaj is a bad role model for young girls and does not support the wholesome image Mattel has spent decades establishing.
