Case:

Nicole, the owner of Simply Nic Nutrition has found herself with an unexpected opportunity. A few

years ago, Nicole wanted to attend an outdoor market in order to educate potential customers

about her holistic nutrition services.

In order to have something on the table while at the market,

Nicole asked her friend to design a logo to be screened on a shirt with the saying 'Good Vibes'.

The shirts were a hit, so Nicole decided to keep to the product and add to the clothing line.

She

had previously sold the apparel through some local shops, but currently due to the pandemic, is

only selling the product online.

She would like to determine how to increase the sales of her

apparel line.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Simply Nic Nutrition is based in St. Thomas, a small town in Southwestern Ontario.

Nicole

suffered from some health issues of her own which drove her into becoming a holistic nutritionist.

She offers nutrition coaching and resources, as well as re-sells health-related products.

Holistic

nutrition that is easy for her customers is the key focus of her personal and company's brand.

Her apparel line ties into her business through her interpretation of the saying 'good vibes'.

This

is led to a mainly female audience in her business overall.

Currently she has a Facebook and Instagram account, and has been building an email database

over the last few years.

Her models to date have been her personal friends.

GOOD VIBES

Good Vibes offers unisex clothing including sweaters, t-shirts, long-sleeve t-shirts, tank tops,

caps, toques, scrunchies, and necklaces.

The available colours are generally black, white, and

beige.

She currently sells anywhere in Canada, but the majority of her shipments have been to

addresses in Southwestern Ontario.

Simply Nic currently offers $10 flat-rate shipping in Canada

and free shipping on orders over $150, although Nicole is not sure this is the right approach.

As Nicole purchases the clothing items, outsources the addition of the design, and has limited

storage, the product is comparable in price and quality to well-known brand name items.

The

average recommendation of those that have purchase the product before was 9.5/10.

Another decision that Nicole needs help with is what elements of the product she should continue

offering, as well as promoting.

Currently, the Good Vibes product line is sourced and screened

locally by an Indigenous business.

Nicole also has the option of sourcing only environmentally

friendly materials moving forward.

Nicole is also open to expanding her product line and offers in

any way, but would need to do so in a very strategic way in order to avoid the costs of a large

inventory.
