Suppose you're deciding whether to drop out of college because you have amassed quite a large following on TikTok. If you can manage to become "TikTok famous", large companies may pay you to promote their brands, record labels may pay you to use their songs, and you would have the opportunity to sell your own merchandise - you believe this would be a more profitable route than working a traditional 9 to 5 job. Suppose your viewership on each TikTok is normally distributed with a mean of 59,149 views and a standard deviation of 20,025 views (you are REALLY funny on TikTok!). a. (5 points) Standardize the following TikTok viewership counts on several of your recent TikTok's: (i) 32,590 (ii) 51,123 (iii) 64,785 (iv) 86,369 (v) 101,342 b. (4 points) You must reach at least 100,000 views on TikTok to be considered by sponsors. Calculate the z-score of this value based upon your Normal distribution. Draw the Standard Normal Distribution with a mean of z=0. Place the z-score you calculated associated with 100,000 views into the Standard Normal Distribution. Shade the corresponding region to be considered for sponsorships. (HINT: You will either shade the area to the left or right of your z-score.) c. (6 points) What is the probability that one of your TikTok videos reaches more than 100,000 views? What is the probability that your viewership count is less than 50,000 ? Show your work
