As of April 5, 2021, the number of reported COVIDA1SI cases around the world has risen to approximately 132 million corresponding to a death toll of 2.3 million [2] The majority of viruses, which attack living cells to reproduce, are composed of genetic material [made of DNA or RNA] which is surrounded by a capsid [composed of proteins] and a lipid layer that protects the genetic material. For the SARSCOV2 virus which causes COVlD19 [CO = corona, 'v'I =virus, D= disease, 19 = discovered in 2019], the genetic material is made of 30,000 repeat RNA units where its proteins protect the RNA and act as spikes to attach itself to a host cell for growthfreplication.
