Interpersonal Communication Assignment

Directions:

1. You are to choose an article that discusses COVID-19 and the interpersonal communication problems associated with it. Examples of this could be how to keep in communication with friends and family or how to celebrate holidays together or Zoom meetings/classes & communication. This article can be academic, from an online news source, or a paper-based news source. The publisher and writer must be reputable. No articles by Taylor Swift in "The Onion." YouTube and other video sources will not be acceptable either.

2. Read the article so that you thoroughly understand it.

3. Then answer the following questions.

a. What is the main issue or problem that the author is focusing on in this article?

b. Discuss the significance of the issue that is the focus of the article. Why is it important? On what do you base your assertions regarding its significance?

c. What are the main communication concepts being used in the article which relate to the main issue? (The communication concepts do not have to be explicitly identified. You can identify them using the vocabulary and concepts you have learned from the book.)

d. What are the conclusions being drawn by the author?

e. What are the implications of the conclusion(s)?

f. Does the author have a point of view?

g. Has anything been ignored by this author, or has not been considered in dealing with this communication issue?

Paper Formatting Directions:

MAKE SURE you include the name of the article you used in the appropriate citation style (APA, MLA, etc.) at the bottom of your paper!
