Interview of a person from another generation It should be apparent to you by now that Native Americans value their ancestors. After all, the wisdom of generations resides with our older relatives. Follow the steps below to conduct an interview of an older person. It can be a relative or just someone you know. Visit the first website after these directions. It will take you to a site where you can hear interviews similar to what you will be doing. Find a person you will be able to visit more than one time. Generate a list of questions about that person that will help you understand that person's life. Find a time when you can comfortably sit down and talk to that person. When you have done those three steps, you will then follow this basic assignment: Interview a parent, grandparent, older family member, neighbor, or someone from a local retirement home. As you interview this person, find out what knowledge he or she would like to pass down. What values, experiences, insights, and/or stories can that person share with you. In his or her life, what worked? What trials and tribulations did this person have?
