Interview someone who uses statistics in his or her everyday work. It might be your

adviser, an instructor, a researcher who lives on your block, a health care analyst, a

marketer for a company, a city planner, or . . . Ask the person what his or her first

statistics course was like. Find out what the person liked and didn't like. See if this

individual has any suggestions to help you succeed. And most important, ask the person

about how he or she uses these new-to-you tools at work.
