Chapter 2 described one way to compact memory. Some people suggest an alternate method: all jobs could be copied to a secondary storage device and then reloaded and relocated contiguoulsy into main memory, thus creating one free block after all jobs have been copied into memory.

Is this viable? Could you devise a better way to compact memory? Write your algorithm and explain why it is better.
