INTRODUCTION:
Since well over a decade ago, the internet has become an indispensable component of the lives of today's young people. It has served as a medium through which they have gained knowledge, enjoyed amusement, and connected with others. The manner that young people connect and engage with one another has undergone profound shifts as a direct result of the proliferation of social media. Platforms for social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have quickly become an integral component of the social lives of today's young people. They connect with their family and friends on these platforms to share photographs, opinions, and experiences that they have had. Even while there are advantages to using social media, there is also a drawback to being constantly connected to the internet. The bad features of the online environment, such as cyberbullying, body shaming, and comparison, are now more readily available to the younger generation. This continuous exposure can cause mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem in individuals who are vulnerable to its effects. In addition, today's young people face a lot of pressure to achieve success in their chosen field of work. They are continuously comparing themselves to their classmates and concluding that they are not as capable as those around them. The pressure that people put on themselves to succeed can lead to issues with their mental health such as stress and anxiety. The youth's mental health suffers because of the continuous exposure to social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. In addition to this, the pressure that young people feel to be successful in the job route that they have chosen has a detrimental impact on their mental health. This study will investigate the impact of social media on the mental health of young people as well as the choices they make regarding their future careers. To back up my assertions, I will provide evidence from several studies and polls. My goal is to contribute to a greater understanding of the impact that social media has on the mental health of young people as well as the professional choices they make.
BODY:
The use of social media may potentially have a negative effect on career choice. Young people are constantly exposed to a variety of occupations, which is why this is the case. They see other people leading interesting lives and want to lead similar lives for themselves. On the other hand, they are ignorant of the considerable work that individuals in those positions have made to obtain them. For today's youth to make informed decisions about their futures in terms of both their careers and their mental health, the drawbacks of social media need to be made clear to them. The main reason why social media has a negative impact on today's teenagers' mental health is because they constantly compare their own lives to the supposedly perfect lifestyles they see online. Youth are frequently exposed to a variety of adult vocations, which may negatively affect their decision about a career.
