1. The central issues in Prison Programs involve determining the basic needs to which prisoners are entitled, and to what extent various programs, including higher education and faith-based programs, fall under the umbrella of "necessary." Other issues such as rates of recidivism, effectiveness of the programs, the prison population, and budgets also need to be taken into account. Explain your choices in this scenario by addressing the following questions:

Do you think prisoners deserve the right to extensive educational services, including not only GED training but also college courses and degrees? Why or why not?

2. Do you think faith-based programs should be adopted over academic programs if there appears to be more inmate and community support for this type of program? Why or why not?
