Introduction
X FACTOR Retail is a growing retail company that operates a chain of 5 small stores across various locations in north Georgia. The company is currently facing challenges with its inventory management system, resulting in inefficiencies, increased costs, and customer dissatisfaction. Presently, the company has been managing inventory using emails, MS Excel, and Intuit Quickbooks (when the store managers remember to use it). As the company grows, this is no longer sustainable to support the company growth. This year, the July 4th holiday sales exposed how bad X FACTORs inventory management was, they engaged your company to help them. They need a better system to start the year in January 2024. Thus, as a business systems consultant for The Grizzly Gearheads Corp., you have been tasked with analyzing the situation and proposing a solution to streamline inventory management at X FACTOR Retail. Task 2: Design an Inventory Management Solution Utilizing Management Information Systems
Develop an inventory management solution that utilizes what you have learned in management information systems and system analysis and design that will help X FACTOR streamline its inventory management. Consider the following aspects:
Inventory tracking and control
Real-time data
Demand forecasting
Inventory planning
Supplier management
Order fulfillment
Customer relationship management (CRM) system
Task 2 deliverable Part 1: Use cases describe the functionality of the system from a users perspective. Create one use case diagram that would represent the system, actors, use cases, and relationships by incorporating some of the functionality from above to demonstrate your understanding of use cases. Use MSVisio, OpenOffice Draw, Lucidchart, or similar software to create the diagram.
Task 2 deliverable Part 2: Create a Context Level 1 flow that will help streamline its inventory process.
