Inventory accounting question.
How would a manufacturer/merchadiser account for the transportation of its inventory (assuming the inventory items are already made) to its own warehouses? I am thinking operating expenses, but could these costs be capatalized to the inventory account (capitalized)? I do not recall this being the way to record these expenses (taught in university)
