IP Subnetting Help!! Can anybody help and explain me. I do understand subnetting but i dont understand how a mask increments lets say /20 in this excercie incremeants to /22? and so on. i need to asnwer the following questions. thanks An ISP is granted the block 16.12.64.0/20.

The ISP needs to allocate addresses for 3 organizations. First Organization with 1000 addresses, second with 500 addresses, and the third with 100 addresses.

Find the range of addresses for each organization. (Another wordsthe first and last address in EACH of the three subnets).

my comments: (Not sure if we have to put in the right format, addressed power of 2.. So how about the 1000 addresses? shouldn't be 1024 and 500 follow as 512 and 100= 128?
