One day, Rogue, IQ's clerk, presented to Careless one of the IQ's partners, for signature a cheque drawn in favour of the IQ firm or bearer.There was no sum on words written on the cheque in the space provided and there were the figures 2 in the space intended for the figures.Careless signed the cheque.Rogue subsequently tampered with the cheque by adding the words one thousand and two hundred ringgit in the space that had been left.Rogue then presented that cheque for payment at the firm's bank, CAMB Bank and received thousand and two hundred Ringgit out of the firm's account.Realising the deduction in firm's account, Careless had conducted investigation and found that Rogue had forged the cheque. Careless lodged a report to CAMB Bank and was informed that they had properly honoured the cheque. Careless was not satisfied with CAMB's explanation and claimed that CAMB Bank would then be liable to the firm for the loss that was perpetrated by their own clerk.

In another occasion, Careless had won a case in defending his client who involved in a road accident. The client drawn a cheque under the firm's name and handed it to Careless payment for his legal service. Careless had presented the cheque to the firm's bank, Town Bank (TB) and instructed to credit it to his personal account. TB however refused and returned the cheque to Careless since there was no date stated on the face of the cheque. Careless was very angry and decided to sue TB for wrongful dishonour.

Meanwhile, Careless had ordered one product from Japanese seller, Mr Takayama and they agreed to use a bill of exchange in their transaction. Mr Takayama wanted to instruct Careless to pay his supplier Mr Tamaguci. The amount was RM10,000 payable 30 days after receiving the product. Your duty is to draw a bill of exchange and identify a drawer, a drawee and payee in this transaction.
