IRST and LAST INITIAL ONLY: Last 4 digits of your ID: MATH 324 Signature Assignment Semester/Year: Class: Section: evised 9/15/202016 Your friend Barney Fife was remodeling his kitchen. He went shopping for a new refrigerator. The salesman at Appliances RUs showed Barney two models. Model A was an LG Electronics 25 cubic feet fridge that would cost $1618.20 initially and the annual electric cost would be about $44 per year. Model B, a Maytag 25 cubic feet refrigerator, was on sale for $1529.10 with an annual electricity cost of about $50 per year. The salesman urged Barney to buy model A, the LG refrigerator, because he claimed that the total cost would be less than the Maytag over the long term. a. Barney wonders, "Is the salesman giving good advice or is he just interested in getting a commission on a higher priced sale?" Some of the mathematics that we've learned so far can help you advise Barney, especially cost equations and graphs showing the operating costs of the refrigerator over a long period of time. Write out the mathematics and explain to Barney your view on which model to purchase. You should write at least four complete sentences. Be sure your graphs are drawn on graph paper with appropriate scales
