Is anyone able to help me figure out what legal remedies each party should consider in dividing property they have acquired during their 14 year marriage? Are there any other legal remedies that may apply to the break-up of their relationship?

Carrie and Peter have lived together for 14 years but they were never ceremonially married.They live in a state that recognizes community property.They own a house and two cars jointly and each has a separate retirement account.They have separated from one another and are not going to reconcile.
