Is the advancement in information technology helping the investment outcomes? Internet is facilitating the transfer of information almost instantaneously as new market related and/or firm related information is produced. There is reduced need of brokers as the purchasing and selling of securities can be done electronically. Research and analysis has become much easier with both the low/no cost availability of information and then its analysis in almost no time. The development and trading of ETFs and high frequency trades are due to the advancement in technology. Cite similar examples that highlights the use of technology in investments and discuss the benefits/harms from this technological advancement. Use your example and the examples provided by fellow students to make a prediction about the impact of this growth in technology on the future in investment field.
