We were given permission in writing from city officials. The day of the rally, we gathered and began to peacefully protest the . violence in our city. We were told by city police officers that we had to leave. We showed them our letter of permission from the city and showed that we were in no way being violent or causing any security issues. We told them it was our right to protest and that we had not broken any laws. We peacefully sat on the ground rather than leaving. We were dragged out by the police and arrested. These charges are a disgrace to the city of Shoreline and to the ideals of our society.
