Is this dataset useful? A dataset (often refereed to as a raw dataset) is ready to be analysed when: 1. Each case (object, unit) is unique - there is no repetition of the same case. In this example, each state is unique. None of the mentioned states are described twice. 2. The names of your cases do not have to be mentioned. For example, if you have a dataset about a randomly chosen patients from a hospital, there may be no column with their names or ID numbers. You will see only variables that describe each patient. 3. The dataset contains at least one variable (column) that describes the cases. ID numbers, ZIP codes, or dates are not consider to be variables. 4. There are no summary tables.
