2.Brooke is a neighbor of Janet, a single mother living with her four year old daughter Amanda, in Pine Valley, Massachusetts.Recently, Brooke knocked on the door of Janet's house to see if anyone there had seen her missing cat.Upon being admitted to the home, Brooke observed that the house was filthy.Garbage was piled all over, and rotten food was covering the counters.Both Janet and Amanda were filthy, and the child appeared underweight, although no symptoms of illness or injury were apparent.The stench was overwhelming.Brooke departed after about five minutes and promptly called the Department of Children
