Ismail, a parking enforcement officer, spotted that a sports car had been illegally parked. He placed the car on a tow truck and was driving it to the depot, when he changed his mind and drove the car home instead. The following week, Ismail sold the car to Sandy for 3000 by falsely telling Sandy that the car belonged to him but he had mislaid the car registration documents. Sandy had recently passed his test and was so overjoyed to own his own car that he bought it regardless.
Ismail was in the process of clamping another car, when he noticed that the sunroof was open. Ismail grabbed a mobile phone from the passenger seat of the car. Ismail noticed that it was an old phone and he was unimpressed. He smashed the phone before he placed it back on the seat. Ismail saw a driving licence in the glove box which he removed.
Ismail used the driving licence to hire a car for the weekend.
Advise Ismail on his criminal liability, if any.
